Overview
“Toon Football,” a regional multiplayer football game we did for Cartoon Network Asia. While Yanks like to call this sport “soccer,” the game was designed for the Southeast Asian and Oceanic markets where the term “football” reigns king.
“This gaming experience has become a retail platform for Cartoon Network, playing a key role in increasing brand awareness.”
In “Toon Football” users create a custom avatar and, much like in real life, get better through Training. “Toon Football” features 3 Training mini-games (Dribbling Drills, Juggling Exercise, and Striker Practice) that can improve an avatar’s stats, such as Shooting and Speed.
The three games each feature unique gameplay focused on fast reflexes and good hand-eye coordination and timing. Each Training game has 30 stages that are progressively difficult.
The site also features a Store where users can purchase upgrades and special items, such as a Ben 10 jacket, for their avatar and team.
The game’s main feature is the Tournament mode, which allows players to challenge their friends’ avatars and play in tournaments and cup matches.
This mode lets users battle it out on the pitch in 5-on-5 matches alongside their favorite Cartoon Network star. Each toon player has their own unique ability based off of their superpowers in the cartoons that will help players on their path to victory.
